Wine Enthusiast ReviewRated 94
Rich black cherry and cola-spice aromas pick up a slightly caramelized tone on the nose of this appellation cuvee. The palate is tightly woven in a way that gives elegance to the flavors of black raspberry, rose petal and carnation.
Wine Tasting Notes
BARDEN's sole focus lies on the terroir of the Sta. Rita Hills, obtaining grapes from esteemed vineyards within the appellation. This allows them to highlight the region's distinctive characteristics for Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Syrah. The Sta. Rita Hills, with its varied soils influenced by the ocean and a climate that benefits from cool sunlight, offers an ideal environment for Doug "Barden" Margerum to utilize his extensive four-decade expertise in food and wine. Through this, he crafts small quantities of exceptional wines that harmonize well with cuisine and possess the ability to age gracefully.
