Jeb Dunnuck ReviewRated 94
Lots of red and blue fruits, cured meats, and flowery incense emerge from the 2018 Grenache El Diablo, which comes from the Russian River and is 98% Grenache and 2% Syrah. Medium to full-bodied, it has good ripeness, moderate tannins, and just a delicious, balanced style that's ideal for drinking over the coming 7-8 years. Drink 2021-2029.
Wine Tasting Notes
The El Diablo's vibrant aromatics exhibit strawberry jam, red vines, blueberry, crushed white stones, white pepper, black licorice, dried thyme, and blood orange. The silky palate is layered with red and blue fruit, garrigue, tangerine oil, and a hint of white tobacco on the long finish. This wine is readily accessible now, and will age effortlessly for 10-15 years or more.
