Jeb Dunnuck ReviewRated 92
The 2023 Rose of Pinot Noir is a rich raspberry/pink hue and is energetic and fresh with cascading aromas of bright red cherries, pomegranate, fresh roses, and fresh herbs. Coming from the exceptional vineyards of Garys' and Rosella's in the Santa Lucia Highlands, it offers outstanding personality and snappy freshness, with a good deal of depth on the palate and a long finish. It has a chiseled feel, with loads of crunchy red fruits. I would be thrilled to drink this alongside herbed roast chicken and hard cheese. It's a fantastic rosé that has a complete feel with lots of versatility. Drink 2024-2027.
Wine Tasting Notes
This wine is from 100% Pinot Noir fruit from some fabulous vineyards in the Santa Lucia Highlands. The juice for this wine is both free run/table juice and a 36 hour saignee, juice drained out from the tank after contact with the skins. The juice then went into neutral French Oak barrels for fermentation and aging until bottling in December. This is a dry Rose that reminds me of a really mouth watering, watermelon jolly rancher with a nice minerality on the palate.
