Jeb Dunnuck ReviewRated 99
More blue fruits as well as blackcurrants, leafy tobacco, chocolate, candied flowers, and baking spices all emerge from the 2018 Hexameter, and it's full-bodied, with an incredibly pure, seamless texture, polished tannins, and one heck of a great, great finish. While this is unquestionably a mountain wine, with a building sense of minerality, it has a rare sense of elegance and purity, flawless balance, and is just a heavenly, singular wine. Based on 51% Cabernet Franc, 44% Cabernet Sauvignon, and the rest Petit Verdot, aged 20 months in 65% new French oak, it will evolve for 25-30 years. Drink now-2051.
Wine Tasting Notes
Poised and eloquent, the Hexameter overflows with notes of plum, black cherry, violets, pen ink and forest floor, giving way to aromas of cola, boysenberry, molasses and orange blossom. This wine possesses great heft and balance - power and levity that will continue to tell its tale for decades to come.
