Decanter Magazine ReviewRated 93
Julien Fayard's first made Le Pich in 2011; this vintage is sourced from vineyards in Oak Knoll, Rutherford and Coombsville. Enticing dark cassis aromas with rich cedar oak and chocolate. Robust cedary oak tannins on the weighty palate gives more structure than previous years and offers excellent tension and grip. Promising. Drinking Window: 2022-2040.
Wine Tasting Notes
Purlieu Le Pich Napa Cabernet blends dark fruit with complex earth tones into a satisfying and versatile wine. The nose opens with ripe boysenberries, berry bramble and a hint of forest floor, then brightens into an energetic palate of black and red cherries, graphite and dried mint. Fresh berry patch-scented tannins support the fruit through a mineral-driven finish layered with raspberry preserves.
