Product Description
James Suckling ReviewRated 94
Attractive nose of dried apricots, candied plums and hints of tea leaves and vanilla. Medium- to full-bodied with vivid acidity and a dense, creamy texture. It shows chocolate bitterness at the end. Very long and textural, with a lot of delicious fruit upfront. Drink or hold.
Wine Tasting Notes
Royal Tokaji Aszu 5 Puttonyos Red Labeloffers an intense nose with lots of fruitiness and spice. Great structure and vibrant freshness with flavors of white peach and ripe plums, a perfect balance of richness, crisp acidity and a long finish.
Serve slightly chilled (50 to 54 degrees) in a small port glass or a glass of similar size (there are approximately eight two-ounce servings per 500ml bottle). Tokaji Aszu wines are wonderful on their own as an apritif or as a digestif, with cigars and petits fours. These wines also pair well with a wide variety of foods, including foie gras, fruit tarts, chocolate desserts, and blue and soft cheeses.
