Offering flavors of baked brioche, vanilla, apple tarte tatin, spiced orange peel and salted caramel, this rich version floats with meringuelike weight on the palate. Hints of dried rosemary, smoke and white chocolate add detail and complexity before lingering on the plush finish. Furmint and Hárslevelü. Drink now through 2034.
Wine Tasting Notes
This wine shows typical black pepper and orange zest character, vibrant honey and grapefruit on the palate with a long, spicy finish.
Serve slightly chilled (50 to 54 degrees) in a small port glass or a glass of similar size (there are approximately eight two-ounce servings per 500ml bottle). Tokaji Aszu wines are wonderful on their own as an apritif or as a digestif, with cigars and petits fours. These wines also pair well with a wide variety of foods, including foie gras, fruit tarts, chocolate desserts, and blue and soft cheeses.
